Oleg Zakharevich: Metaphors Game

"In his paintings, the artist uses allegorical and mysterious female images, conveyed with warmth and reverent expressiveness. He turns to the interpretation of ancient myths, creating works that immerse the viewer in a world of vivid images, dreams and metaphors"
Oleg Zakharevich was born in 1961 in Bobruisk. A decorator by profession, he graduated from the Bobruisk Art School. Zakharevich is one of the most sought-after contemporary Vitebsk artists in the art space, a member of the Belarusian Union of Designers (1999), the organiser of the creative association of artists "M'Art" (2005), a participant in regional, national and international exhibitions.

He works mainly in the genre of figurative art. In his paintings, the artist uses allegorical and mysterious female images, conveyed with warmth and reverent expressiveness. He turns to the interpretation of ancient myths, creating works that immerse the viewer in a world of vivid images, dreams and metaphors. In some of his works, one can trace allusions to the Art Nouveau style, manifested in compositional rhythms, ornamental lines, mosaic colors; as well as a play of quotes and meanings typical for the aesthetics of postmodernism.

Oleg Zakharevich's works are in the collections of contemporary art museums in Minsk and Vitebsk, and in private collections in the USA, Canada, Europe, and the CIS.
