The exhibition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Vladimir Prokoptsov is an Honored Artist of Belarus, a candidate of art history, an honorary professor of the Vitebsk State University, an honorary academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, and an honorary general director of the National Art Museum.
The display of works shows the multifaceted interests of the author as an artist, art critic and museologist. The artist's works have an original cognitive style with deep philosophical content and reveal eternal spiritual values, an appeal to his roots, and love for his land and his parents. The paintings represent a fusion of subjective and pragmatic principles, which allows the author to reveal and show on canvas the impulse of his feelings and thoughts through harmonious completeness, and compositional, plastic and color organization of the work.
This exhibition presents paintings of various genres: landscapes, still lifes, portraits, epic canvases. Three new works will be presented for the first time: "Farewell to a Veteran. In Memory of Father", "Harmony of the Earth and Heaven. In Memory of Vera" and "The Road Home". The exhibition also feature Prokoptsov's books dedicated to famous Belarusian masters (Stanislav Zhukovsky, Vitold Bialynitsky-Birula, Ferdinand Rushits and others), which are part of the series of publications "Famous Artists of Belarus" that he initiated.
